This entry puts me through ten-twelfths (five-sixths? 83.3 percent??) of my journey as I brave my way through the Internet elements, joyously delivering movie and TV clips to some of my favorite bloggers! (What is he on about? Click here to make it a little clearer.)
Today’s stop is at the blog of Realweegiemidget Reviews (I know not the blog hostess’ actual name). This is another multi-faceted entertainment blog, providing delightful reviews of movies, TV shows, and books. In fact, the blog covers so much ground, I wondered what one item this woman might enjoy. Happily, her cat gave me the answer.
At the top of her blog’s cover page, there’s a photo of her feline pet watching a TV screen as the Universal Pictures logo appears upon it. So I decided to give Ms. Reelwee…, etc. something to watch with her cat.
Embedded below is a 12-minute history of the Universal logos that have graced the silver screen for over a century (the studio was formed in 1912). There’s another “official” version provided on YouTube by Universal themselves, but it runs only a dreary 30 seconds and goes back only to the 1930’s. This version contains every version and is really quite fascinating viewing for any movie-history buff.
So enjoy 100 years of logos, and please come back tomorrow for Day 11!
