Happy anniversary…to me!
Today marks the third anniversary of the creation of this blog. Usually on this anniv date, I write some pseudo-profound piece about how many followers I have, what I’ve learned through the journey of blogging, etc. But this year, I decided to instead pass the riches on to you, with your chance to participate in the
MY FAVORITE MOVIE THREESOME BLOGATHON!
Rules for the Blogathon
For this ‘thon, I’d like you to write about your favorite trio of movie characters or actors. Please understand that I don’t want three separate entries about actors (e.g., Cary Grant, Clark Gable, and James Stewart). I’d like you to consider:
- trios that are known as collective groups (such as the Marx Brothers);
- three actors who worked together in only a single movie (such as Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, and Betty Grable in How to Marry a Millionaire); or
- three continuing characters in a film series (such as Luke, Leia, and Han in the Star Wars films).
After you choose your trio, describe why they appeal to you so much. Take any approach. You could write about why you find The Marx Brothers hilarious as a group, or you could write about one of your favorite films of theirs. The same goes for trios who appeared in one-off films. Do you want to describe the chemistry between Marilyn, Lauren, and Betty, or would you rather write about how charming their three characters are? As long as you include a movie trio and why you like them, the sky’s the limit!
How Do I Join the Blogathon?
In the “Comments” section at the bottom of this blog, please leave your name, the URL of your blog, and the movie trio you are choosing to blog about. At the end of this blog entry are banners for the ‘thon. Grab a banner, display it on your blog, and link it back to this blog.
The blogathon will take place from Friday, July 28, through Sunday, July 30, 2017. When the opening date of the blogathon arrives, leave a comment here with a link to your post, and I will display it in the list of entries (which I will continually update up to the beginning of the ‘thon, so keep checking back!).
I will not be assigning particular dates to any blog posts. As long as you get your entry in by the end of the day on July 30, I will be satisfied. (That said, the earlier the better!) Duplicate entries about the same trio are welcome as well.
Again, be sure to leave me a comment and grab a banner, and have fun with your blog entry!

Hi! This is an interesting blogathon and I’d like to participate. I have sort of an odd one. I just saw the 1989 indie film Miss Firecracker and really loved the interaction between the three main characters (Holly Hunter, Mary Steenburgen, and Tim Robbins). I’d love to do a blog post about that.

After debating for a while, I think I’ll take Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy and Jean-Paul Belmondo in A Woman Is a Woman (1961), if that’s okay. My blog is Cinematic Scribblings: https://cinematicscribblings.wordpress.com/ Thank you!

Can you submit an old post for this blogathon that hasn’t been used for a blogathon? If so, I can add my review on Three Men and a Little Lady(? Will be away on the 28th, so can send it to you on the 27th, from Gill at Realweegiemidget Reviews (1990)

Works for me. In fact, I’m glad you chose that movie over the original — I’ve always found it rather charming!

Me too, is it ok if I send you the review this week .. just so I know I’ve done it! LOVE this movie so much more than the original, even if England is a wee bit stereotypedx

Sure, just post the review’s URL in the “Comments” section. My favorite scene is where Tom Selleck is talking to the girl on the pier as they’re about to separate. It’s just the way an intelligent adult would talk to an intelligent child.

I love the scenes with Tom Selleck and Fiona Shaw x But obviously its a major weeper, sob at most of it x Christopher Cazenove was fantastic too (can you tell this is a fave 80s movie)

My name is Tiffany Brannan; I am the authoress of the Pure Entertainment Preservation Society, https://pureentertainmentpreservationsociety.wordpress.com. I would like to write about the three Mikes in “Three Guys Named Mike” from 1951. The only problem is that I will be out of town during the actual blogathon. Would it be alright for me to put the article on automatic post for the 28th if I give you the link as soon as I finish the article? Thank you for your help in this matter.
Yours Hopefully,
